Crime Prevention

e Crime Prevention Program's objectives are to establish and maintain a comprehensive community program and participate in community and school events. Some crime prevention and community initiatives include the Sioux Valley Cadets, Sandy Bay Youth Corps, Summer Student Program, safety events and career/health fairs.

The Dakota Ojibway Police Service has been able to develop these programs with assistance from the Province and respective First Nation communities. We have now secured funding through Manitoba Children & Youth Opportunities Crime Prevention Branch each  year to ensure that we can continue to provide opportunities for more youth to participate.

The D.O.P.S. Crime Prevention programs and services have focused on youth initiatives over the course of the last year. We have had many opportunities to engage our youth through meaningful and beneficial learning events. We strive to meet the needs and address concerns of our young people through crime prevention programming providing the youth with positive lifestyle choices.
